Custom events are special actions or behaviours you track on your website or app - like when someone watches a video, uses a discount code, or shares content with friends. Think of them as your personalised way to measure what matters most to your business.
Different modes of configuring a custom event
There are two ways to set up custom events:
Developer Method: Use our JavaScript SDK to configure custom events directly in your code (learn more on this here). While this requires programming knowledge and website changes, it offers more flexibility. This is the most common method for the following use cases:
Tracking the web page visits, and form submissions. These events are tracked by default.
Track any webpage-related events like an ebook download or any link clicked.
No-Code Method: ZEPIC provides a simple rule-based system to create custom events without coding. This method is for triggering events based on the data coming from a different system. Some of the use cases will be:
If a customer gives a 5-star review in your review system and you want to track it, segment customers and run automated workflows.
If a customer raises a very urgent priority ticket and if they recently purchased a very high-priced item, you want your customer success team to be notified.
